The GCSE workshop develops pupils' understanding of the context and structure of Bollywood music.

In a 1 or 2 hour session pupils will

  • Make classroom arrangements of a Bollywood tune
  • Learn to arrange music from our repertoire
  • Work towards a performance at the end of the workshop
  • Improve listening skills through analysing the structure of a Bollywood song
  • Explore musical elements such as interplay and contrast
  • Look at dramatic devices such as stops, drum breaks, dynamics
  • Learn about the context of Bollywood film music from a historical and practical point of view

The band can provide workshops which link to the areas of study of all exam boards:

  • The Music of India/Bhangra
  • Composing
  • Performing
  • Improvising
