NOTTINGHAM LIGHTS UP!
EEA worked with Nottingham City Council in March 2007 to create an extravaganza celebrating the opening of the new Market Square in the centre of the City.
Two colourful lantern processions featuring hundreds of local people wound through the streets of Nottingham and entered Old Market Square to be greeted by Robin Hood and Maid Marion (a fantastic display by aerialists from Scarabeus), human Catherine wheels, fire performers, lighting and firework effects and to top it all off a truly spectacular firework finale fired from Nottingham castle.
"What a great night. It was fantastic to see such a mixed audience from the smallest children to their grandparents. the atmosphere was electric, everyone went home buzzing. I've seen a few shows in my time, that was one of the best" Cllr Leon Unczur, Nottingham City Council
"It makes you proud of Nottingham" K Francis, Step In Time Dance School
"The fireworks left many open-mouthed .. provided a rousing finale and left the crowd cheering their appreciation" Nottingham Evening Post
