Suitable for schools, libraries and museums
Watch the story of Diwali unfold with interactive storytelling, traditional South Asian dance, live music, light projections and shadow puppetry.
Using traditional Kathak choreography, two dancers will convey the ancient rituals of this Hindu festival of lights to signify the victory of light over darkness. Immerse yourself in one of the world's greatest poems, find out what happens to Lord Rama and his wife Sita, the demon king Ravana and the monkey god Hanuman.
There is also a chance to make shadow puppets and Diwas (Diwali lamps) in workshops so that you can join in with the performance. This project is scalable and can be based on a two person team (for example dancer and storyteller both drama facilitators working for a week in a school) or a 6 person team (for example 2 dancers, story teller, musician and 2 arts and crafts facilitators for a day).
