The Moon Queen

Moon Queen horizontal, wings open

EEA’s fabulous Moon Queen is our newest Gigantic, a 5m high female moon puppet.

With a 7m wingspan, beautiful integrated lighting and music, she is perfect for a night time parade.

The Moon Queen was designed by Gordon Allum, Mike Pattison, Tony Mason and Emma Garofalo, The Moon Queen concept was devised by trainees at Gigantics – EEA’s outdoor arts training course funded by LDA Cultural Skills for 2012 London in association with Arts Council England. She premiered at the spectacular Eltham Lights Up parade 2009, an annual lantern procession involving schools and community organisations.

The Gigantics training course is an example of EEA’s professional development opportunities for practitioners, including emerging artists.
