Shanika has a BA (Hons) in Theatre with Media and Cultural Studies from Kingston University. Her background as an actor led to her discovering the joys and importance of participatory arts and she is passionate about making sure the arts sector is as diverse and representative of the people it serves as possible. In 2014 she graduated from EEA’s flagship facilitator training course Creating Routes and now she both manages and delivers the course herself! For EEA, Shanika oversees our training development programmes as well as community engagement in the wider sense. As a freelance facilitator she has worked for organisations such as Talawa Theatre company, Tender Arts and Education, London Bubble, Rada, ICA and many more. She is also a playwright and has had work shown at Soho Theatre and Theatre 503.
